Temporary Special Benefit for Households Exempt from Resident Tax (30,000 yen)
If, in fiscal year 2024, your household became exempt from paying resident tax, you can receive this benefit.

Who is Eligible to Apply
Households must meet ALL 1-5 of the following requirements:
- The household is not receiving the same benefit from another municipality.
- The household's Certificate of Residence was Yokosuka as of December 13, 2024.
- Everyone in the household was exempt from paying (did not have to pay) resident tax in fiscal year 2024.
- The household is not receiving support from someone who does pay resident tax.
- No one in the household reported an exemption due to a tax treaty.
Please Note
- Notifications (postcards/letters) started to be mailed out, in order, beginning on January 17, 2025. Please apply for this benefit if you received a document.
- If you moved to Japan from overseas, or if you moved to Yokosuka from another municipality on January 2, 2024 or after, you will not be sent a notification. If you still haven't received a notification by February 10, 2024, please contact the Temporary Special Benefit Call Center (0120-934-573).
Benefit Amount
30,000 yen per household.
Households with children born on or after April 2, 2006 can receive an additional 20,000 yen per child.
Application Due Date
For those who received a notification: please apply by Friday, May 30, 2025.
Please write your name and bank account information on your application form and include all necessary documents in your application (see above link "Procedures to Receive 'Temporary Special Benefit for Households Exempt from Resident Tax' for details).

Come to the Temporary Special Benefit Help Desk[臨時特別給付金窓口] on the first floor of City Hall, by the Accounting Division. Available weekdays from 8:30 am to 5 pm. Please bring your envelope of application documents and your bankbook.
