Collection at bases

Used small home appliance collection box

Targets non-shredable garbage such as products that use rechargeable batteries that fit into the input slot
(15 cm in height x 30 cm in width).
Example) Laptop computer, game console, electronic cigarette, handy fan

Installation location

City Hall main building entrance/Each administrative center/General Welfare Hall/Hinode Office/Yokosuka garbage processing plant "Ecomill"/Recycle Plaza “Aicle"/Civic Activities Support Center (Honcho)

  • If it contains personal information, be sure to delete it before sending it out.
  • Items placed in the collection box cannot be taken out.
  • Collected items will not be reused as used items.
  • Limited to items that are no longer used at home.
    (Items used at business offices are not eligible)

Products that use mercury

We are collecting mercury-based thermometers, blood pressure monitors,
and thermometers.

*Alcohol thermometers (liquid is red) are “Non-burnable garbage”

  • If it is damaged, provide sufficient ventilation, collect the mercury lumps with cardboard, place them in a plastic bag or a sealable container, and contact the Waste Management Division (046-822-8469).

Ink cartridges

We have collection boxes for used ink cartridges from households.

Batteries

Please place each battery in the designated collection box.
Collection boxes are installed at city facilities and electronics retailers. Please check each website.

Dry batteries/coin batteries

Put in the dry battery collection box

  • Please remove it from the bag
    and place it in the collection box.
  • Please check the city's
    homepage for the installation location.

Button batteries

Put in the button battery collection can

  • Apply cellophane tape to the
    electrodes and insulate them
    before disposing of them.
  • Please check the "Battery
    Industry Association of Japan“
    website for the installation

Rechargeable batteries

Put in the rechargeable battery collection box

  • This applies to small
    rechargeable batteries
    such as mobile batteries.
    Look for the rechargeable battery recycling mark.
  • Apply cellophane tape to the
    electrodes and insulate them
    before disposing of them.
  • Please check the "JBRC General Incorporated Association"
    website for the installation
    location.

Please do not dispose of dry batteries or mobile batteries at garbage collection points. If it is mixed with other garbage, it is very dangerous as there is a risk of ignition.
