Collective resource recovery

This is not a collection by Yokosuka City.

  • Collection is carried out in cooperation between implementing organizations (neighborhood associations,
    neighborhood associations, etc.) and collection companies (Yokosuka City Resource Recovery Cooperative
    Association).

  • For inquiries outside business hours, please contact the implementing organization or collection agency. 

Items to be collected

*Newspapers, magazines, cardboard, paper cartons, and other papers cannot be disposed of in plastic bags.

Newspaper

Tie it in a cross shape with string or
put it in a newspaper bag handed
out by newspaper delivery.
Newspaper insert flyers can also be
issued.

Magazines

Tie them in a cross shape with
string before disposing of them.
*Albums are considered "burnable
garbage."

Cardboard

Tie it in a cross shape with string
and dispose of it. *Do not tie it
together with tape. * Items with
silver paper or cushioning material
attached are "burnable garbage."

Paper packs

Wash, open, dry, and tie in a cross
shape with string before disposing
of them *Those with silver or brown
insides are considered ``burnable
garbage.''

Used clothes/fabrics

Place in colorless and transparent
bags. *Not available on rainy days.

Dirty and wet items are considered
``burnable garbage.'' Leave the
buttons etc. on. The size that can
be thrown out is at least the size of a handkerchief (scraps are
considered``burnable garbage'').
Please wash
and dispose of it.

Fluorescent tubes

Fluorescent tubes, light bulbs, etc.
(including LEDs)

Wrap it in paper and write
``fluorescent tube'' or ``light bulb''
on it, and put it in a colorless
transparent bag or paper box and
throw it out. *You can throw it out
even if it's broken.

Other paper (business card size or larger)

wrapping paper,
paper bags,
paper boxes,
envelopes,
calendars,
posters, etc.

Tie it in a cross shape with string, put it in a paper
bag, wrap it in large paper, or dispose of it.
*Paper with paint, food, odor, shredded paper, and
carbon paper are considered ``burnable garbage.''

Metals other than cans

All items made of
metal and items
listed on page 20
are subject to
collection.

Even rusty items can be taken out. Please put
small items in a colorless and transparent bag.
You can take out items up to 2m long.

Sunday Recycling

Collection takes place from 9:00 am to 12:00 noon on the 1st to 4th Sunday of each month at the following locations.
Please feel free to use it if you forget to put it in a group resource collection or if you are having trouble storing it.

    Yokosuka City Resource Recovery Cooperative Kurihama Office (2-4-30 Uchikawa)
    *Closed on the first Sunday of January.
  • 2nd Sunday
    Recycling Plaza “Ikuru”
    (5-2931-71 Uragomachi)
  • 3rd Sunday
    Hinode Office
    (2-10 Hinodecho)
  • 4th Sunday
    West Purification Center
    (2-2-2 Nagasaka)

*There is no 5th Sunday.


The flag is the landmark.

  • Depending on the implementing organization, the collection date for "newspapers, magazines,
    paper cartons, other papers, used clothes/cloths" and "metals other than cans, fluorescent tubes" may be different.
  • Recyclables generated as a result of business activities are not subject to collection.
  • Electrical appliances, futons and cushions cannot be taken out.
  • Items that cannot be collected will be left behind with a "recyclables unsuitable material sticker" affixed to them.
    Please check how you put it out and try putting it out again.
